As followers of US cricket and youth cricket are aware, Owen Graham, 45, was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.   OG, as Owen Graham is known, has been an influential youth coach and player in the San Francisco Bay area cricket community for nearly 20 years.

EYCA, which was one of the West Coast organizations that launched a fund-raising drive, made another appeal last week for OG's medical fund.  OG's medical bills are projected to reach six figures and Graham does not have health insurance.

In a media release, EYCA noted that OG had completed his radiation cycle and two rounds of chemotherapy; he remains in good spirit and is battling cancer.   EYCA noted that OG was greatly appreciative of the love and support that he had received from cricketing community.

The May drive had raised $11,000, including $3,500 from EYCA, $2,550 from Seattle cricketers lead by Vishwa Gaddamanugu and other $5,000 from other donors.  Gopal Samant noted that the medical expenses for OG's treatment were piling up and more funds were needed.

"EYCA would like to make another appeal to cricketing community of USA,  it is my appeal to the captain of each team in USA to drive a collection.  If 1,200 players, which is a fraction of all cricketers in USA contribute $50 to $100, we can pull together close to $100,000 and that will go a long way in ensuring a speedy recovery of our beloved OG," Samant wrote.   "EYCA will continue to rally the community in support of OG for as long as he needs us," Samant added.
