SCCA announced its Premier League T20 tournament which will take place at the Woodley cricket fields, Van Nuys (CA) over the Labor Day Weekend.
The SCCA Premier League T20 features an auction with eight franchise bidding for the players. The cost to buy a team is $1000. Owners to bear expenses for food, drinks and umpiring. For 2012, the owners are Denise Stuart (Carrib Blues); Sammy Kang (Punjab Blues); Janak Patel (Master Blasters); Peshan Wedanarachi (Centurion); Mushi Khan (Pro T20); Mehul Dave (Dhinka Chika XI); Atul Rai (Challengers);
Parvez Badar (LA Warriors).
In an auction that took place on August 19th, owners were awarded $5000 (virtual dollars) and bids were invited for players. The following "Icon" players were named ahead of the auction: Challengers - Abhishek Pawar, Abhik Vyas, Theo Mavrokefalos; Carrib Blues - Ali Mukaddam, Clayton Graham, Muhammad Amin; Punjab Blues - Ricky Singh, Kanishka Chaugai, Muhammad Asad Khan; Master Blasters - Janak Patel, Nandish Patel, Priyank Patel; Dinka Chika XI - Mehul Dave, Mrunal Patel, David Pieters; Centurion - Peshan Wedanarachi, Ali Ijaz, Marcus Stewart; Pro T20 - Rohit Yadav, Tarun Bhoomireddy, Muhammad Sadiq; LA Warriors - Richard Blackledge, Gary Croker, Rodney Cutting.
Organizers said that teams will be announced on August 22nd. The SCCA Premier League T20 will award cash prizes with the winning team taking $5,000 and $2,000 going to runners-up.
