USACA's ICC Level One coach education course was conducted in Atlanta on February 22nd.  According to USACA's March Partnerships newsletter, the course had over 25 enthusiastic participants from Metro Atlanta, Maryland and Texas regions.

Some of the key topics that were covered during this program included: role of the coach, coaching philosophy, coaching styles, methods of teaching and learning, planning, communication, outdoor activities, games and assessment.

The course was presented by Anand Tummala, an ECB certified Level II coach who played first class cricket for Delhi in 2001-02 and represented USA in the KA Auty Cup in 2011.

Speaking after the conclusion of the course, Tummala said, “It was great to see the coaches evolve during this 8 hour program and I felt even better to see them put it into practice the concepts learnt during this [program]. I encourage all coaches to become accredited this year and improve their cricket coaching skills and knowledge."

The next USACA Level One Coach Education course will be held in Missouri in April, USACA noted in the newsletter.
