USA is led by the experienced Neil McGarrell, who represented West Indies internationally and served as the captain of Guyana.  Muhammad Ghous, Timroy Allen, Steven Taylor are expected to play a key role.

Canada features a mixture of youth and experience, including the returning captain, Ashish Bagai, who had a brief spell out of the game. Among the other players to keep an eye out for in the Canadian squad is Jeremy Gordon, the fast bowler who previously represented Guyana.

Speaking about the opening match against Canada, McGarrell said: “Our rivalry with Canada is very friendly as we play each other every year and know most of their players."

“We take it in turns to play home and away, so the rivalry is normally very friendly. But this tournament will be a different occasion with a place in the ICC World T20 to fight for so I guess all will be on the line come that first match.
