USA Cricket: Bedessee Sports NY T20 announced

Bedessee Sports announced its first national T20 cricket tournament in the city of New York. The tournament will be conducted in association with The New York Cricket Region, American Cricket League, Brooklyn Cricket League, The Metropolitan District Cricket Association and the USA Cricket Umpires Association.

Bedessee Sports announced its first national T20 cricket tournament in the city of New York.  The tournament will be conducted in association with The New York Cricket Region, American Cricket League, Brooklyn Cricket League, The Metropolitan District Cricket Association and the USA Cricket Umpires Association. 

Bedessee Sports, which is the largest importer and distributor of cricket equipment in North America, has supported many tournaments in the region over the years and has also sponsored the Bedessee Destroyers team in T20 tournaments held in both NJ and Florida.  

This event will be a wonderful opportunity for teams to showcase their players in a friendly cricket tournament, while competing for a Grand Prize.  The tournament is offering $10,000 to the winning team and $2500 to the runner-up. 

Bedessee announced that there would be other cash and equipment prizes for top performers. Chub Bedessee of Bedessee Sports hoped that the tournament would be a great success and play a positive role in cricket development.  Bedessee said, he hoped to build a stronger foundation in New York through this tournament.

The Bedessee Sports NY T20 tournament will be held from August 30th to September 2nd.  A majority of the games will take place at the Marine Park, Seaview 80th and 108th Street parks in Brooklyn and the final will be played at the Seaview 80th street Park. The tournament is open to all clubs, groups and leagues.

The tournament has an entry fee of $1,500 per team interested teams should submit a roster by August 23rd.  More information can be obtained by contacting Chubb Bedessee at 718-272-1300 (ext 4) or Lester Hooper from the NY Cricket Region at 347-538-2696.
