The ACF award was part of the "Women's Cricket Awareness Week - 2014" in the USA, an event driven by the organization as part of its ACF women's cricket initiative which kicked off one month ago.
Canadian women’s cricketer Alicia Porter received the American Cricket Federation (ACF) “Spirit of Cricket” award at the 4th Annual Atlanta Women’s T20 Cricket Championship held in Atlanta, Georgia, held over the Memorial Day Weekend.
Ms. Porter participated in the championship final as a member of the CanAm United XI. Atlantis CC of New York emerged champions for the third successive year in this tournament.
In the opinion of the judges, Ms. Porter demonstrated the true spirit in which the game of cricket should be played throughout the tournament, and according to one of the judges, was the embodiment of what the sport needs at all times.
