USA Cricket: NW Region wins U-15 Western Conference

The North West Region won the USACA U15 Western Conference conducted between November 29th and December 1st, 2013. The event was hosted by Southern California Cricket Association at the Woodley cricket complex.

The North West Region won the USACA U15 Western Conference conducted between November 29th and December 1st, 2013. The event was hosted by Southern California Cricket Association at the Woodley cricket complex.  Richard Blackledge (Curator of the Woodley complex) and Pradeep Patel (SCCA Youth Coordinator) worked together with a large number of SCCA volunteers to provide the participants with a top quality cricketing experience.

Four teams participated in the event and the eventual ranking of the teams was as follows - (1) North West (2) Central West (3) South West (4) Central East.

The following individuals were recognized for their performances:

MVP - Arjun Patel (SW)

Best Batsman - Mohak Buch (NW)

Best Bowler - Sagar Karthik (CW)

Best Fielder - Arjun Menon (SW)

Most Economical Bowler - Sahil Patel (SW)

Summary Scores:

Game 1 - North West (143 for 3 in 20 overs) defeated SW (53 for 5 in 20 overs)

Batting: For NW - Mohak Buch: 67 and Maulin Vajir: 54*.  For SW - Arjun Patel: 14.  Bowling: For NW - Shopnavo Biswas :3/5

Game 2 - Central East (57 for 5) lost to Central West (58 for 3 in 11 overs)

Batting: For CE - Neil Makin: 14.  For CW - Guransh Nanda: 15.  Bowling: For CW - Smit Chitre (2 for 12)

Game 3 - Central East (43 all out in 23.2 overs) lost to North West (45 in 4 overs)

Batting: For NW - Mohak Buch: 29* and Maulin Vajir: 13*.  Bowling: For NW - Gaurav Patanker: 4/10 and Aravind Patnam: 2/6

Game 4 -  Central West (118 all out in 36.4 overs) lost to South West (119 in 29.2 overs)

Batting: For CW - Dhruv Sethi: 27.  For SW - Arjun Patel: 83*.  Bowling: For SW -  Arjun Menon : 4/22 and Nihar Shah - 3/21.  For CW - Sagar Karthik (4/17) and Guransh Nanda (3/31).
