For the seventh consecutive year, DreamCricket.com is recognizing USA’s standout performers at international level with the New Inning Foundation USA Cricket Awards.

The 2016 New Inning Foundation Junior Cricketer of the Year is Arjun Patel. The southern California native was the team’s leading scorer at last year’s ICC Americas U17 Match Play tri-series in Pearland, Texas where he made 177 runs in four innings including two half-centuries while serving as wicketkeeper-captain.

Patel’s consistency in the middle order was of great value to USA as they went 2-2 in the series to finish in second place. In USA’s two victories, he contributed 55 and a top score of 81 off 84 balls against Bermuda.

Aside from cricket, the 18-year-old Patel is currently enrolled as a student at University of California-Berkeley. Patel is the third California product to win the award, following in the footsteps of Saqib Saleem and Shakeel Ahmad.

In recognition of his achievement, Patel will receive a plaque as well as a $200 DreamCricket.com Pavillion Shop gift certificate sponsored by New Inning Foundation.
