2016 New Inning Foundation Women’s Cricketer of the Year – Nadia Gruny

Gruny, a 33-year-old San Francisco Bay Area resident, shined during USA’s matches against the touring MCC Women’s squad in Philadelphia, finishing as the team’s leading scorer.

For the seventh consecutive year, DreamCricket.com is recognizing USA’s standout performers at international level with the New Inning Foundation USA Cricket Awards.
 
The 2016 New Inning Foundation Women’s Cricketer of the Year is Nadia Gruny. The 33-year-old San Francisco Bay Area resident shined during USA’s matches against the touring MCC Women’s squad in Philadelphia, finishing as the team’s leading scorer.
 
In two T20 matches, Gruny totaled 55 runs and also took figures of 1 for 28 in four overs. Her best performance with the bat came in the initial contest against MCC Women playing for USA Red. Against a team of players that included former England legends Charlotte Edwards and Claire Taylor, Gruny opened the batting and scored 52 off 65 balls including four boundaries.
 
In recognition of his achievement, Gruny will receive a plaque as well as a $200 DreamCricket.com Pavillion Shop gift certificate sponsored by New Inning Foundation.
