ATLANTIS HEADS IN YOUTHFUL DIRECTION

Prashant Nair, 18, Named Clubs Youngest Skipper In Its History

Atlantis has supported the development of youth cricket throughout the years, by including several younger players on its touring squad and competition rosters, however 2010 saw the club taking a radical turnaround in registering some 19 players below the age of 25, with the express purpose of reinvigorating the club and broadening its base.

The 2010 season paid dividends, as Atlantiswith a 9-3 record landed among the top four teams, but eventually ot knoced out in the semi-final round.

The 2011 season is off to a similar start with Atlantis at 4-0 after four matches for the season. The club continues to invest heavily in a youthful squad, naming Prashant Nair its youngest ever skipper at age 18, along with hard-hitting middle order batsman Nicholas Standford as the vice-captain.

With constant memtoring and coaching from the sidelines offerd by the experienced duo of Carlyle Miller and Keith Aaron, the squad appears to be listening carefully and executing on the field of play.
