Your point was that my comment was a bit skewed.. Which I agree with fully. If you thought after reading the post that I am saying that England don't deserve to be #1 then I would beg to differ though. If you read this blog carefully I have always tried to be the contrarian trying to give an opposite view to what most people seem to carry at that time. With today's media every report, every analysis is so skewed that one tends to disagree with that. Even when India was ranked #1 in the world, I maintained that it was not the DOMINANT side in Test cricket. And same holds true for England at this point in time as well.

Many arguments which were given in favour of India then like great bowling line up, youngsters coming up (RP Singh, Ishant Sharma). Seems like a joke now doesn't it?

When India stayed at #1 for almost 2 years everybody questioned the rankings. All I have said is that why is England a universally accepted #1 now? We still have a South Africa out there. Over the next few months the #1 can change hands frequently. So why not wait for another year before hailing England as the Best team in the world?

cheers and sorry for deleting your comment. I get too much spam and in doing bulk deletes, mistakenly deleted a couple of comments on this post.

May be they do.. but that still doesn't take away the thing that England has to go and win OUTSIDE as well.. its a statistical anomaly that they are at #1 as of now!!

it was a great team no doubt.. but they still behave (at least their ex-players) as if they are the best at present.. they are pathetic!! thats why they still are stuck in their 80's mindset.. Jeff Dujon on Day 2 of the 1st Test was talking of a windies victory when they were some 80-2 on a tough pitch.. wat does that indicate but disconnect with reality

yes he has bowled better this season.. but again this is more a spoof..

I was there for the eliminator, Mi v DDD and MI v KXIP. The contrast in captaincies in the eliminator couldn't be more stark.. Inspite of being a MI supporter by default, I felt for GG..

As far as RCB and CSK goes its just a matter of relativity.. Dislike both intensely.. chiefly because od their owners..
