Colorado Cricket League's Shailesh Patel smashes T20 record for Best Bowling figures in an innings (4-0-13-6)

Colorado Cricket League’s Shailesh Patel smashes T20 record for Best Bowling figures in an innings (4-0-13-6) Date: 10/4/2008 - Game: BCC vs CSCC - Ground: Boltz, Fort Collins, Colorado On this cloudy and damp morning, Boulder Cricket Club(BCC) won the toss and decided to field first. Utpal Amin and Keyur Amin opened up BCC's innings with their bowling attack. From Colorado Springs Cricket Club(CSCC), both Kervyn Dimney and Vikas Chugh dominated BCC in the first four overs. They made BCC think whether it was the right choice to field first. They were scoring at above 10 runs per over. BCC was on a tough spot and decided to introduce, Manoj Thakur and Shailesh Patel for the next spell. On one end, Manoj started off with his right arm medium bowl style and stuck with his line and length, slowing down the run rate. On the other end, Shailesh started off with his variable spin getting Kervyn out to a good one handed catch by Keyur.
After, Shailesh's first over, little did anyone know what was about to come. He not only stopped the runs but also managed to send CSCC batsmen back to the pavilion more often than at the regular intervals. Shailesh managed to get 5 other CSCC batsmen out while giving only 13 runs off his 4 overs. Shailesh ended up with record breaking bowling figures of 4-0-13-6, over taking his current team mate Keyur's record of 4-0-13-5. It was looking like BCC was on the top, but after Manoj and Shailesh finished their spell, CSCC came back with the introduction of Mehmood Khan who scored 45* taking the CSCC score to 167 for 6 in 20 overs.  Shailesh Patel was the only BCC bowler that captured all of the 6 CSCC wickets that fell. Deep and Kirti opened the batting for BCC. After a slow start, wickets kept falling regularly. It looked like BCC never had a chance with their batting. BCC ended up with a score of 79 all out with their highest scorer being Utpal with his 15 runs.

After Keyur Amin's(BCC) record breaking spell of 4-0-13-5 a few weeks back, Shailesh Patel(LCC player playing for BCC in this T20 KnockOut Tournament), super-seeded that with an awesome 4-0-13-6, thus creating a new record in itself.

While his bowling analysis read as 4-0-13-6, his wicket fest read as:

First over - 9 runs - 1 wicket on last ball, Second over - 1 run - 3 wickets, Third over - 2 runs - 1 wicket, Fourth over - 1 runs – 1 wicket.

So far no player has taken a fiver in T20 International cricket; and with Shailesh Patel's impressive spell he can be a record holder for “Best figures in an innings”, compared to MR Gillespie’s 2.5-0-7-4 or RP Singh’s 4-0-13-4.
