By Kervyn Dimney - Colorado Cricket League
Last years CCL Twenty20 League & KnockOut Tournaments produced a couple of bowlers namely Rajesh Solanki, Narayan Madabusi, Rohit Shah, Kervyn Dimney (Read article) that equaled the Best Bowling figures in an innings record with 4 wickets, but Keyur Amin (Read article) bettered it further by actually breaking the record with his 4-0-13-5, only to be superseded by Shailesh Patel (Read article) who ended up with yet better record breaking numbers of 4-0-13-6 (and the record still holds good today).

bowling performance of
Last years comparison was based on Twenty20 International Bowling Records of MR Gillespie’s 2.5-0-7-4 or RP Singh’s 4-0-13-4.Today the record for Best Bowling figures in an innings is held by Pakistan’s Umar Gul for his 3-0-6-5 against New Zealand in the recent ICC World Twenty20 2009. The uniqueness of Monami Sharma’s wickets were that he was able to get his 5 wicket haul through 5 distinct methods of dismissal. He had one by hitwicket, LBW, Caught, Bowled and a Caught&Bowled. Being the 5th bowler in the CSCC attack, he was able to dismiss 2 players, one bowled – one caught, in his very first over by giving away just 3 runs. Similarly, in his second over he was again able to dismiss 2 more players, one LBW – one HitWicket, giving away 3 runs. His 3rd over, where he gave 6 runs, the last ball got him another wicket, which was a Caught & Bowled.
This is also Monami’s Sharma’s first 5 wicket haul in the Colorado Cricket League.
Congratulations Monami Sharma on a job well done, and making your team and league proud of your achievement.
