About
5 years ago, a bunch of cricketers who happened to be friends off-field
as well, formed the team ‘Fooglies.’ Back then, they played friendly
fixtures and entered their team in several T20 tournaments. In 2007,
Fooglies reunited as the DreamCricket Fooglies at the LA Open T20 where
they reached the semis.
DreamCricket Fooglies comprises nine
core players and several invited players. The team is managed and run
by Arjun Thyagarajan and plans to participate in other tournaments
around the country.
The team is looking forward to the
contest and is excited about the prospects of the at the TANA Cup. “We
have some highly talented cricketers and we are going to have a blast
on and off the field. We have done well at the past LA Open and other
T20 tournaments, but we never won it all. We expect to build on that
performance, and win the TANA Cup this year,” Arjun Thyagarajan told
DreamCricket.com.
“Fooglies come together for such tournaments
for the cricketing and social aspect of it. For us, it is a weekend
well spent. Competitive cricket during the day followed by post game
social action!”
Speaking about the sponsors, he said “We would
like to thank DreamCricket for sponsoring the ‘Fooglies’ for TANA Cup
2010. We chose DreamCricket as a partner because we believe in their
motto - have fun, play well, never flinch!”
Kranthi Bayya, CEO
of Dreamcricket.com, said her company was excited about supporting the
Fooglies. “We appreciate the opportunity to reunite with the Fooglies.
They are a high-energy team and they are going into this tournament
with the right blend of talent and experience.”
