Nabeel Ahmed presents 'fool-proof plan' for youth and women's cricket development

In a press release issued yesterday, Nabeel Ahmed, the former First VP of USACA who declared his candidacy for President of USACA, called Youth and Women's cricket "critical components in the infrastructure of any forward-thinking administration."

"In my ongoing efforts to promote, encourage and foster cricket development in the USA, I am putting forward a fool-proof plan for Youth and Women's cricket development," Mr. Ahmed announced.

Mr. Ahmed said he would implement a year-round "Future Stars New Dimensional Cricket Coaching and Training program," in multiple locations across USA.  The primary objective for such youth programs is to provide kits, safety equipment and uniforms to outstanding performers.  Mr. Ahmed advocated for "coaching schemes" for clubs and academies.

Saying that women's cricket had been put on the "back burner" by the current administration, he noted that women have found themselves without a clear mission, and with limited direction.

Mr. Ahmed also announced his new vision "Women's Cricket - by them, for them".   As part of this 'new vision', he advocated for the appointment of a national women's coordinator and the appointment of women selectors, coaches and managers.  Mr. Ahmed said that he would create an academy for women cricketers and "franchise these academies to each and every corner of the country."

He concluded by saying: "This is a work in progress, and I welcome the opportunity to continue the fight for equality which has finally begun across the United States of America."

All well and good to increase coaching for young cricketers, but the emphasis has to be on boosting the quantity of players first. Once the playing numbers increase, the coaching programs will be much more cost efficient.
