USA Cricket: Judge denies plaintiffs request for preliminary injunction; elections will take place April 14

United States District Court Judge Lucy Koh has denied the request for a preliminary injunction to delay the USACA general elections scheduled for April 14 in order to allow leagues that were in good standing as of November 30, 2011 the right to vote. The full ruling can be read here.

After reading the court decision was left with the impression Varadarajan didn't

have very good legal representation.  The PI was dismissed on mostly technical

requirements: he couldn't show he would be injured over $75K; couldn't show he

was a member of the USACA; couldn't show the correct state laws apply to the

case.  Any decent lawyer should have seen these and advised a different strategy.

This defeat doesn't mean Baby Doc and his cronies can't be beaten in court, just

that more thought and planning has to be put into it, with better lawyers.
