ICC Americas U-19 - USA vs Cayman and Canada vs Bermuda

All matches were reduced to 35 hours due to heavy rains overnight.   Peter Della Penna, who had been sending us live updates over the last few days had to drive back last night due to prior commitments in New Jersey.   As you may be aware, Peter Della Penna and the rest of us here at DreamCricket.com do a Saturday radio show called Frontfoot on 1170AM here in NJ.   Also, DreamCricket runs several cricket camps here - so we were somewhat short of bandwidth today.

However, we have some updates from the team dugout.  Here is how things stand for the two main matches.

    USA vs Caymans Islands:

USA made some changes to the team composition.   Good thing the rains did not completely wipe out today's matches.  Skies are clear now and the matches wickets are soft, but things are going well for USA.  Abhijit Joshi has replaced Corns today.   Corns injured his left thigh while fielding yesterday and he is getting some rest today.   Steve Taylor is in the team in place of Saami Siddiqui.

After 34 overs.  USA are 216 for 7 - Shiva Vashishat 59; Wardley 44 out.

    Canada vs Bermuda:

Canada are 159 for 5 from 32nd over.

Folks in the dugout tell me that the overnight rains have made the wicket slow and unresponsive to pace....

It started raining once again but here are the results -

Canada won on D/L, Bermuda had to get through the over without losing the wicket but they did not do that.

USA got Caymans's last wicket just as the rain started to fall - remarkably bowling out Caymans for 64 all out.

Bahamas won against Argentina on D/L.

More details are awaited  - it was a Tornado alert and spectators and scorers left the venue in a rush.
