Pad up
To get ready for your turn to bat. Sometimes, the next batsman in is in the awkward situation of not being ready – most likely the previous batsman was out for a duck.
Partnership
Happens when the batsmen are really jiving. But is broken when a run is called where there is none. Then they don’t talk to each other for a few days.

Used to indicate the number of runs scored by both batsmen, between one "out" and the next. A "partnership of 100 runs for the third wicket" would mean that 100 runs were scored by both batters between the second and third "out".

Tendulkar’s claim to fame was that he shared a 640 run partnership with his mate Vinod Kambli one time. None of the opponents played cricket after that fateful day. Also, anytime India won over Aussies, it was because of a partnership between Laxman and Dravid.
Pavilion
The last place of refuge for batsmen. Can be the shortest walk from the pavilion to the wicket yet the longest from the wicket to the pavilion.
Pick the seam
What you try to do without anyone noticing to make the seam prominent. These days, with those cameras everywhere, it is becoming less and less likely to do it unnoticed. Ask Sachin. He got into a lot of trouble for doing something that looked like he was picking the seam (he claimed innocence – he is a decent bloke, so we are inclined to believe him).
Pissed
See plastered.
Pitch
A specially prepared piece of grass. It is so sacred that it must be roped off into it's own special area before and after play.
Pitch invasion
A way to make sure your team doesn't loose. Indians have some experience in this matter.
Plastered
The state in which many end up after a day in the stadium.
Play for a draw
The batting side has no intention of winning. To draw is a big achievement in itself sometimes. You can also hope for the rain but the clouds don't always oblige.
Play safe
Wearing a protective helmet while facing a fast bowler in West Indies. And wearing a condom while on the outfield.
