There was a long drought in Central Africa. The witch doctor had tried all his rainmaking techniques - dances, imprecations, but nothing worked.
The tribal chief observed that rain was never a problem in England, so the tribe decided to send the witch doctor to London to learn England’s rainmaking technique.
So the witch doctor set off to England and came back a learned man with international experience.
He informed the chief that they performed weird sort of ritual. These crazy white men first enclosed a big plain of grass within a white picket fence or a rope.
They then drove two sets of sticks into the ground.
Then two men entered armed with a small sized club.
They waited next to the sticks for a bunch of white men to spread themselves all over the ground.
Then two wise tribal elders came in wearing black trousers, four sweaters and six hats.
A tall tribal chief then came running in with a round piece of rock which he threw at the man with a club.
The gods were satisfied and down came the rain. This went on for five days until the land was no longer thirsty.
