Sri Lanka captain doubtful for final England match
COLOMBO, March 26 (AFP) - Sri Lanka captain Sanath Jayasuriya is a doubtful starter for the third and final one-day international against
England at the Singhalese SC grounds on Tuesday.
Jayasuriya aggravated a knee injury during the second one-day international which Sri Lanka won by 66 runs to take an unbeatable 2-0 lead
in the three-match series on Sunday.
Sri Lanka team manager Ajith Jayasekera said that Jayasuriya was under treatment and put down his chances of playing on Tuesday as
"50-50." Jayasuriya was hit on the knee during the third Test early this month and was again hit on the same spot during the first one-dayer at
Dambulla on Friday.
If Jayasuriya fails to get through a fitness test on Tuesday, vice-captain Marvan Atapattu will lead Sri Lanka who are looking for clean sweep
of the series.
