Atlantic inflicted a decisive 6 wicket whipping on Grenada, to take the 2009 Florida Southeast Cricket league (FSCL), 40 overs competition title before a large gathering of supporters for both teams, at Brian Piccolo Park-North, on Sunday June 21.

Batting first after winning the toss Grenada posted 184 for 7 off the regulated 40 Overs.

The burly hard-hitting Roy Weekes hit a brisk 40 to topscore, Neil Mungal played well for 34 and Rawle Mirjah carried his bat for a sedate 18.  Bowling for Atlantic, Priyantha Liyanage took 2 for 32 from his 8 overs, Pieter Potgieter 2 for 35 from his 8 overs and Leecent Blake 2 for 47, also from his 8.

In reply, Atlantic rattled up 192 for 4 off 38 overs, to romp home to a decisive 6 wicket victory and, the 2009 forty overs championship. Taking them there in fine style, Blake and Liyanage, turned in excellent allround performances, as they scored 55 and 40 respectfully, ably assisted by Andrew Ashman with 26 and Sudhakar Narasegowda who, solid as a rock, remained undefeated on 22.

The best of the bowlers for Grenada was, Wahid Mohamed who grabbed 2 for 22, from 5 overs.

The umpires were, Ali Salahjee and D. Williams. Congrats are in order for Atlantic.
