CCA Champions lived up to their name and reputation as they went undefeated an were crowned the champions of the Under 13 tournament.

CCA Champions after their victorious campaign at the CCA Invitational Under 13 Tournament
Earlier in the morning, NCCA reached the finals after winning a hard fought battle against New Jersey's DreamCricket Academy team. Needing 67 to win, NCCA found themselves in a tough spot reeling at 47 for 7 owing to some extremely tight bowling early on by Ryan Aravind (3 for 5 in 5 overs) and his mates. After surviving a devastating 18th over by New Jersey's Shekar Kripalani who took 3 wickets in the over, Elias Yasini (16 not out) held his nerve and saw his side to victory in the last over of the match. Despite their loss, the New Jersey boys came away with a ton of match experience and some terrific lessons in the school of hard knocks. For NCCA, it was a morale boosting win as they entered the finals.
NCCA won the toss and chose to field in the finals of the Under 13 tournament that was held at Dilworth Elementary School. The entire proceedings were webcast live via CalCricket.org.
CCA Champions openers did a spectacular job with Mihir Altekar (41) and Akhil Ghirnikar (31) putting 87 for the first wicket. Elias effected two runouts within the space of 10 runs, but that did not help matters much. It just brought captain Neil Tagare to the crease who continued the onslaught with 37 together with Mohak Buch who scored 24 not out. The CCA side ended their 25 overs with 176 for 3. A tall order for anybody - especially so for NCCA who had come into the afternoon after playing a hard match in the morning. Wicketkeeper batsman Manik Wason (13) showed some resistance but the damage was done with the score reading 11 for 4 when he arrived at the crease. NCCA were all out for 42 granting CCA Champions a mammoth 134 run margin. Mihir Athavale took a spectacular 5 for 11 in this match which earned him the Man of the Match.

Mohak Buch was MVP of CCA U-13 tournament
In the other Under 13 match of the day, CCA Challengers defeated Michigan by a 35 run margin. Srihari Dasarathy excelled with a 46* effort from 85 balls. Needing 118 to win, Michigan were all out for 82 with CCA's Srivatsan accounting for 3 of the wickets for a miserly 10 runs.
