AHMEDABAD, India (AFP) - Sri Lanka's left-arm seamer Thilan Thushara will return home from the Indian tour with a shoulder injury and will be replaced by Dilhara Fernando, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said on Tuesday.

Thushara injured his left shoulder after colliding with the team's reserve wicket-keeper Kaushal Silva during practice ahead of the ongoing first Test here.

"Thilan Thushara will return to Sri Lanka due to a shoulder injury and will not be match fit for approximately two to four weeks," an SLC statement said.

"Dilhara Fernando will replace him."

Fernando, a right-arm fast bowler, is expected to be available for the second Test, which starts in Kanpur on November 24.

Sri Lanka are playing three Tests, two Twenty20 matches and five one-day internationals during the seven-week tour.
