The final of the 2012 edition of Diversity Cricket Cup will be shown on Jadoo TV tomorrow in addition to UStream beginning 3PM.
The Diversity Cup, which began in 2006 has historically attracted top talent and past participants have included Mohammad Azharuddin, Shoaib Mohammed, Rizwan Uz-Zaman and Rangana Herath. Guests of honor have included Javed Miandad and Asif Iqbal.
The participating teams in the Diversity Cup, as the tournament name indicates, represent various nationalities. The event began with just four teams in 2006 - Canada Maple Leaf, India Blues, Pakistan Greens and USA Stars. This year, the tournament features eight teams.
Group A features World XI, Canada Maple Leaf, India Blues and West Indies Masters. Group B features USA Stars, Pakistan Greens, Sr Lanka Lions and Bangladesh Tigers. The tournament will be played at three venues - Bloomer Park in Rocherster Hills (MI); Hartland in Howell (MI); Bell Isle Park in Detroit (MI) and Lyon Oaks Park in Wixom (MI). Global Sports, the tournament's organizer, has also planned some fun activities for kids and families.
On July 7th, matches will be played in two groups simultaneously at four different venues. Semi-finals will be held at Bloomer Park and Lyon Oaks on Sunday, July 8th. The final will be played at the Bloomer Park on July 8th beginning 3PM.
