Sandeep "Sandy" Bollampally became the first Colorado Cricket League player to score a double-century in the CCL Premier League's 40 over format game.
Bollampally's unbeaten 203*, made in just 115 balls, consisted of 22 sixes and 9 fours - a total of 168 runs in boundaries. His innings helped his team, the Coal Creek Cricket Club (CCCC), amass 385 in their match against Yorkers CC. This was also the club's highest ever score.
To Yorkers CC’s credit, they bowled quite well to the other batsmen. Bollampally's innings was a combination of good leaves, strike rotation and great shot selection. Incidentally, Sandy faced 84 balls for the 35 runs that did not come off boundaries.
Bollampally's double hundred came off a six in the 33rd over following which he retired.
