USACA will conduct an U-15 Western Conference tournament over the Thanksgiving Weekend, Hemant Buch, Co-Chair of the USACA National Youth Committee wrote in an email. Rahul Sharma, National Youth Committee Member was finalizing a similar plan but with different dates for an Under-15 Eastern Conference, Buch wrote.
The email noted that U-15 trials were completed for the erstwhile Central East region. Two leagues participated in the trials and objective evaluation was conducted, according to the Western Conference Planning minutes accompanying the email. An indoor session will be held in October for the boys, the email noted quoting Mir Ali from that region.
Pradip Patel from South West region reported that trials were scheduled for October 5th at Fontana. Patel expected that the trials would draw players from Los Angeles, San Diego and Arizona.
In a separate email that DreamCricket obtained from a former member of the erstwhile South West region, it was noted that the trials were open to all "potential/eligible" cricketers (and not just USACA member leagues) born after September 1, 1998.
Tejas Sanghvi from Central West region noted that U-15 trials were scheduled for October 12th weekend in Dallas. The selection committee for the region comprises three former international cricketers: Asif Mujtaba, T. Kumaran, Mervyn Dillon.
For the North West Region, Hemant Buch noted that trials were scheduled for October 5th. Buch pointed that more detailed plans could be obtained by contacting regional youth coordinators.
The Western Conference tournament would be conducted over the Thanksgiving weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - the games would be played on SCCA's grounds in Los Angeles. Each team is expected to play three 40-over games, the Planning Minutes noted.
