The American Cricket Federation (ACF) announced that it will host West Indies cricket legends Michael Holding and Alvin Kallicharran in an exclusive, all-day cricket clinic to be held on November 16 near Washington, D.C.
This exciting clinic is being held in partnership with the Washington Metropolitan Cricket Board (WMCB) indoors at the Capital Sportsplex turf facility in Glenn Dale, Maryland from 9AM to 5PM, with participation limited to just 30. The clinic is open to anyone 18 years and above.
Holding and Kallicharran will each conduct two sessions with 15 participants, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. A question-and-answer program will follow these sessions, with plenty of time for conversation, autographs and photos. Cost of the day-long clinic is $100 payable to the American Cricket Federation.
Last week, ACF announced that the two cricket legends had issued statements in support of the organization. ACF, and its member league, WMCB, acted on the offers immediately and set up the Maryland clinic.
A fast bowler, who was part of the fearsome West Indies pace battery, Michael Holding was the first to express support to ACF: "I am hoping to get involved in some way to help with its development. We can always dream, and with some hard work, hopefully some will come true.”
Alvin Kallicharran, the batting legend who scored 12 centuries and 21 half-centuries in a nine-year career, wrote an email offering his support to ACF: "You have the drive and passion for American cricket and I know that you will succeed. Like Michael Holding, you have my full support and I am ready to help wherever I can."
