JOHANNESBURG (AFP) - Warriors middle-order batsman Colin Ingram provided the 80-run highlight Friday of a South African Cricket Series game with Cape Cobras.
Ingram struck 10 fours off 168 deliveries in a 225-minute stand before being caught in the covers at Boland Park in Paarl as the visiting Warriors compiled 266, and a four-run first innings lead.
Cobras were 24-0 at the close -- 20 runs ahead with all the second innings wickets intact -- and the stage is set for an exciting final two days between teams seeking a second victory of the young season.
Cobra Rory Kleinveldt, promoted to the national team for a three-Test series in Australia next month, followed up a 36 that included three sixes by capturing three wickets for 51 runs with Vernon Philander (3-57) equally productive.
Storms and torrential rain meant no play was possible for the second consecutive day between Dolphins and Knights at Pietermaritzburg Oval.
