| Gulu's Blog: Drugs, drama and fireworks! None on the pitch! |

Just 10 days into the Champions Trophy and they has
been action and drama galore, not all on the field of
play.
Imagine the lowest total in the qualifying league
being 80 all—by the holders of the title, the West
Indies! And still they easily qualified along with Sri
Lanka, the joint winners in 2002.
They have already been three centuries scored—two by
Upul Tharanga—but the bowlers have generally
dominated. The big guns, Australia will fire on
Wednesday and it will be interesting—and not so much
fun of you are a Windies fan—to see how the holders
fare against the mighty world champions.
Then again, who cares about the cricket alone? What
about the weird sight of Herschelle Gibbs being
cross-examined by the Delhi Police over a case that is
now six years old?
Then at Jaipur it was an unscheduled fireworks display
that broke the concentration of the Indian captain!
And to top it all, Pakistan are once again
self-destructing. After the captaincy musical chairs
back home, we now have the shocking spectacle of their
two star fast bowlers being sent home in disgrace
after failing dope tests conducted by their parent
body!
Wonder what else is in store over the next three
weeks? Should be bucket-loads of masala to come!
