GEORGIA SUPREME CRICKET LEAGUE 2011 season bowls off on Sunday as Vibes defend titles.

Sunday April 10, 2011 the GASCL cricket season kicks off in high gear with four matches’ in the 40 Overs League. Defending champions Vibes Sports Club will host Conrad Hunte Cricket Club @ Lithonia Park. Tropical Sports Club will play host to Caribbean Sports Club @ Burdette Park. UBA Caribbean Cricket Club host Wanderers Cricket Club@ Best Academy and International Cricket Club will host Metropolitan cricket Club @ Mark Trail. Following recent recommendations by Cricket Development Committee, clubs in the Georgia Supreme Cricket league will be expected to reach higher standards of play throughout the season, with the new introduction of the 50 Overs Super cup. GASCL has 12 teams under its wings with 10 clubs participating in the 2011 cricket season. There will be three distinct tournaments: 40 Overs League Cup, the 50 Overs Super Cup and ever increasingly popular Twenty/20. Triple Champions Vibes Sports Club will be looking to fiercely defend all their titles, with the strongest challenges coming from many times champions Tropical sports Club, UBA Caribbean Cricket Club and the much improved Caribbean Sports Club. The other participating clubs are International cricket Club, Nashville Cricket Group, Lawrenceville Cricket Club, Conrad Hunte Cricket &Social Club, Metropolitan Cricket Club and Wanderers Cricket Club. Several of these clubs are expected to pull of a few surprises. Last season Vibes Sports Club captured all available titles and crown themselves triple champions by out lasting Tropical again in the 40 Overs league Championship.In doing so Vibes added the league Trophy to the 45 overs K.O. and the T-20.
