Talking about the tournament, Kranthi Bayya, CEO of DreamCricket.com said, "This is yet another step in the evolutionary path for DreamCricket. We hope to create an exciting event that is in many ways like the LA Open Twenty20 or Hong Kong Sixes. We are confident that this event will put the Garden State on the world cricket map. This tournament is open to every cricketer in the Tri-State area - not just NJ cricketers and we are encouraging teams to invite the best cricketers that they can access."

Ms Bayya said that she expected the tournament to be highly competitive. According to her, "there are a lot of cricketers in the Greater New York area who have played a very high level of cricket including some that have first class cricket and even international cricket experience."

Each team must pay $1000 entry fee to participate. The tournament will be played with color clothing and white balls provided by Brown & Willis. A total of 12 teams will be accepted. Teams will be organized in two groups with each team playing every other team in their group (5 matches) in a round-robin format. Top 2 teams in each group will progress to semis. The prizes are $5000 for the winner, $2000 for runner-up, $500 each to losing semi-finalists, plus prizes for tournament MVP and Man of the Match awards. In effect, each of the four semi-finalists will win prizes.

Teams must register by September 10th and send a 15 player short-list by September 15th. Four of the twelve team slots have been reserved for teams that DreamCricket has invited especially for this tournament. The Tournament Director will announce all the 12 teams by September 15th.

"DreamCricket.com will provide live updates via our website and we will also provide live radio updates via EBC Radio. Arrangements are also being made for TV highlights coverage and half-time entertainment for the final," Ms. Bayya said.
