New Jersey Twenty20 kick off postponed to Sunday, Sep 28th
Sep 26, 2008
Due to inclement weather, DreamCricket announced that the New Jersey Twenty20 Tournament matches originally planned for Saturday have been postponed and the tournament will now kick off on Sunday, September 28th.
The Tournament will now start with three matches scheduled for Sunday morning and four to be played in the afternoon. Detailed schedule can be accessed from www.NJT20.com.
"As the old English joke goes - if you want some rain, plan a cricket match. The association of the English game with English weather is well known. We were hoping for a nice sunny Saturday on the cricket field, but the rain has been incessant. Given that players have to drive long distances, some from as far away as Montreal and Boston, we took the raincheck and we will now start with a bang on Sunday," Venu Palaparthi, the Tournament Director said. "We will have mulch and saw-dust on hand to ensure smooth progress on Monday," he added.
The rosters were announced on Friday and the only significant change from the original list is the absence of Reon King in the final list sent by Global Challengers.

Welcoming Citibank NRI Services to the growing list of sponsors for the New Jersey Twenty20, Ms Kranthi Bayya said,"We are excited about the involvement of Citibank NRI services. The Edison Daredevils captain Rushi Amin told me that the boys have been practising hard and this endorsement from Citibank will motivate them to work even harder."
