Day 3 - Asad and Waheed shine in the biggest chase in NuWare NJ T20
Oct 05, 2008

Asad Hussein and Waheed Akhtar of North Jersey Renegades completed the biggest chase of the NuWare New Jersey T20 in style.

North Jersey Renegades proved why they are one of the top rated teams in the tournament when they chased 154 runs in just 16.4 overs. The Renegades started miserably when their top order crumbled, with the top 3 manaing just one run between them.

The middle order bat Asad Hussein steadied the innings with the dashing opener Waheed Akhtar. Their 87 runs partnership in 8 overs took the match away from the Warriors. Waheed carried on his form from the previous day and cruised to his 50 in 10 overs. Waheed fell in the 11th over on 63 runs with 5 sixes and 5 fours. He was dropped three times by a poor fielding side.

Asad carried on the chase and kept the pressure on the fielding side. He accelerated in the last 3 overs to finish the match in the 16th over. Asad finished unbeaten on 65 runs with 5 sixes and 3 fours. He was awarded the Man of the Match award for his performance.

Renegades completed two wins in a row and will face the Connecticut Patriots at the Colonial park.
