USA Cricket’s inaugural Board of Director elections are set to begin today, July 20th, at 1pm PT and close at 11:59pm PT on July 29th, USA Cricket noted in a media release.  Over 5,700 voters will elect the seven constituent board members - three individual directors, one league director, one club director, one female and one male player director.

"The elections will be conducted electronically to enable as many of the USA Cricket membership to participate.  Electionbuddy, a world-class election company that has conducted nearly 28,000 secure and anonymous online elections with a total of more than 5.8 million voters, will run the process on behalf of USA Cricket," USA Cricket noted in the release.

Ballots along with detailed instructions on the voting process are being sent to eligible voters today.  Once the election is complete and the seven directors are seated, the final three seats will be filled by Independent Directors who are recruited and nominated by USA Cricket's Nominating and Governance Committee and ratified by the seven elected Directors.

The delayed election has resulted in a slippage on the timeline for ICC's consideration of USA Cricket as the national governing body.   According to the release, "The objective is for the full Board to be seated by no later than mid-September. An application for membership in the International Cricket Council (ICC) is expected to be submitted to the ICC by the end of 2018."
