Edison Cricket Club - A non profit organization with a mission to promote cricket in Edison and beyond - embarked on a project to take the game to the kids by launching a summer camp for the youth in Edison Township.

This year's Summer Coaching Camp has been launched with the help of Dreamcricket.com, which already has a highly successful Cricket Academy for all age groups. DreamCricket Academy was visited by legendary batsman Sunil M Gavaskar and more recently by Balwinder Singh Sandhu. Its coaching staff include Earl Daley, Malika Frank and Gokul Chakravarthy with visiting coaches Ian Pont, Bharath Kumar and Linden Fraser.

New Jersey based DreamCricket.com has become the one-stop destination for cricket content, coaching and commerce. In order to improve cricket infrastructure in USA and to aid cricket development in USA, it has been partnering with like-minded organizations such as the Edison Cricket Club for the last couple of years.

Speaking on the occasion, Kranthi Bayya, CEO of DreamCricket.com said: "DreamCricket Academy has been extremely successful with introducing cricket to youth over the last two years operating from our facility in Hillsborough. Four of our students are part of the Atlantic Region U-15 team. Through collaborative initiatives such as the Edison summer camp, we are now taking our coaching program directly to communities where cricket is making inroads. In cricket terms, this is a perfect partnership."

Balwinder Singh Sandhu, who spoke to the kids during the opening said: "To become successful, you have to first enjoy the game. Nobody that has not enjoyed the game has ever become a successful cricketer. Then, it is important to pay attention to your coach. Even the great Tendulkar was a good student first - he learned the craft from his coach. After that, there is no substitute to practice and hard work. You are lucky to have such great coaches and such good facilities right here in Edison. Now it is your chance to shine. Next time I see you, hopefully you will be on TV playing for USA."

Edison Cricket Club President Atul Huckoo said he was pleased to be associated with this initiative to promote cricket in Edison Township for the youth and keep the spirit of cricket alive with future generations. "Cricket is a team sport which helps players bond with each other, it teaches discipline and builds character - tools which make us better citizens. Discipline, team spirit and mental strength - these are the aspects that the kids will get from this cricket camp in addition to cricketing skills."

The DIRECTV Summer Coaching Camp which is brought by ECC and Dreamcricket Academy is a 14 week program starting May 30th. DIRECTV, which is the title sponsor of this coaching camp has launched CricketTicket, which includes live broadcasts of all IPL, ICC, Champions league and many other tournaments in 100% digital picture and sound allowing cricket fans to enjoy watching the matches with nostalgia while sharing the fun with friends, friends and children.
