Born in Hisar, India, Manik has been playing cricket since the age of nine. Manik is currently a player on the EYCA’s Packers roster and a member of the club since its inception two years ago. As part of this scholarship, EYCA will absorb various expenses required for his continued cricket coaching, equipment, travel, games fees and other cricket related expenses.
The 13-year-old wicketkeeper and captain of the EYCA Packers team represented the club at various cricket ventures last year and describes himself as a cricketer with a never give up attitude who loves competition. He states that he is always seeking to learn something new so that he may become a better cricketer. He also enjoys batting and has demonstrated his prowess with the willow on a number of occasions while representing EYCA.
EYCA Chief Financial Officer Jignesh Trivedi labels Manik as “a hard-working cricketer as well as a hard-working student.” If his determination and commitment to the sport of cricket is any indication, the young man has a very bright future ahead of him.
Any organization looking to be a part of the EYCA scholarship program can reach out to us at cricket.eastbay@gmail.com. We would love to extend this program so that more kids can play cricket without financial constraints.
