The curtain came down on the South Florida Cricket Alliance (SFCA) 2011 cricket season before a large crowd, with International inflicting a 89 run whipping on Osswald Park 1 to dethrone them and take the 2011 Premier Zone T20 title, at Lake Stevens Elementary School (West), on Sunday December 11.
Winning the toss and taking to the crease first, International rattled up a competitive 172 for 6 off their allotted 20 overs. Leading the way, the prolific left-hand hard-hitting batsman Mark Johnson, slammed 6 red-hot fours and 2 towering sixes, in a sizzling 47. Also in good nick, Timothy Surujbally banged 5 fours and a six in a quick-fire 31, whilst Steven Taylor hit 24 (2 fours & a six), Cornel Peart carried his bat for 23 (1 six), Joey Pierre got 16 (2 fours) and Oneil Walker 10.

Bowling for Osswald Park 1, Shaquille Forbes took 2 for 28 from 4 overs including a maiden, Sheldon Ervin 1 for 28 off 3, Cedrick Davis 1 for 44 off 3, and there were 2 run outs.
In a feeble reply, Osswald Park 1 was toppled for a paltry 83 (only 10 men batted) after 15 overs, to leave International the victors by an emphatic 89 runs, and at the same time, the 2011 T20 champions. Only Ervin, who got 25 (2 fours & a six) and Shawn Beckford 13 (1 four and a six) reached double figures and offered any sort of resistance. Bowling International to victory, Two off-spinners Neville Dawkins who bagged 3 for 15 off 3 overs, and Surujbally, who turned in a fine all-round performance coming back to remove 3 for 17 in 4, to help wreck the Oswald Park 1 batting line-up. Also among the wickets, were Walker 1 for 16 and Andrew Williams 1 for 23, both off 3 overs. The Umpires were Wayne Nemhard and Wayne Lewis.
2011 SFCA T20 Division 1 Final - St. Lucie defeats Osswald Park 2 by faster run-rate to snatch Division 1 title
Earlier, on Sunday November 20, to be exact, in the SFCA Division 1 T20 final, Oswald Park 2 vs. St. Lucie, at the Lake Stevens Elementary School (West), in a match interrupted by rain, St. Lucie defeated Osswald Park 2 by the faster run-rate to snatch the 2011 title.
Sent in to bat after losing the toss, Osswald Park 2 reached a respectable 170 for 6 off the regulated 20 overs. Hensworth Wallace, in fine form topscored with a well played 66, Winston Jones was undefeated on 38 and Dave Grant got 26. Bowling for St.Lucie, Nigel Stewart captured 3 for 11 off 4 overs, Loxley Fullerton 1 for 22 in 4 and Richard Louis 1 for 27 from 3. In reply, St.Lucie looking for 171 for victory, and the Division 1 championship trophy, achieved it all, as on 103 for 8 after 11.3 overs, w rain ended play, to leave them victorious by the faster run-rate. Roger Joshua hit 37, Stewart 24 not out and Louis 12. Bowling honors for Osswald Park went to, Joseph Smith who prised out 4 for 11 off 2.3 overs, Oswald Black got 2 for 23 in 2 and Noel Edwards 1 for 30 from 3. The Umpires were: Asta Carroll and Mohammed Ally. Congrats are in order for St. Lucie.
