Two Youngsters - Japen Patel and Zibran Gul who attended the WCA Camps in India are already performing brilliantly in the local league and in the South East Regional Tournament.

Monty Desai's "Atlanta Rising Stars" Team is a project which has captured the imagination of the cricket community in Atlanta. "The goal is to be become one of the most progressive academies in the USA and to develop young cricketers in different age group categories from Under 13 to Under 19," Monty, who also serves as a coach of the World Cricket Academy, told DreamCricket.com.

With 22 cricket clubs participating in the Atlanta Georgia Cricket Conference, each with plenty of talent, Monty Desai hopes that graduates of his academy will progress to the elite group in the league and also play for USA some day.

"The cricketers from Atlanta have been contributing to the performance of the South East team enabling the team to win at national level - including winning the national championship last year in Florida against Central West region. I am especially happy about the performances of Dhronal Shah and Japen Patel at the U-19 level and Anand Tummala, Hammad Choudhary, Jimit Amin and Jibran Gul," Monty Desai, coach of AGCC's U19 and senior teams told DreamCricket.com.

Dhonal Shah's American Cricket Club won the league championship last week and Dhronal himself posted some powerful performances - winning the coveted player of the week award on two occasions.

"Dhronal Shah and Japen Patel have both scored more than 500 runs and taken more than 25 wickets this year thus deserving a chance to be looked into for national trials," Monty Desai said. Adding that "the boys were helped by USA'?s present coach - Clayton Lambert who is from this region."

A lot of aspiring youngsters who are willing to play the game in Atlanta can join the "Atlanta Rising Stars" initiative of the World Cricket Academy.

As part of this program, the World Cricket Academy launched a summer camp this year and the response at the first summer camp was overwhelming. Atlanta has transformed into a major cricketing center in USA and its Rising Stars are surely going to play a major role if USA is going to make an impact on the world stage.
