Saanvi Immadi followed fellow legspinners Mahek Desai and Sainavi Kambalapalli to make it a hat-trick of five-wicket hauls for the USA Women's U19 side on the way to extending their unbeaten run in the Cayman Islands.

The five-wicket haul streak for American junior women’s legspinners has been extended to three matches in a row after 18-year-old Saanvi Immadi produced remarkable figures of 5 for 2 in just three overs as USA maintained their perfect record with a nine-wicket win over ICC Next Gen on Wednesday at the 2026 ICC Americas Women’s U19 T20 World Cup Regional Qualifier in the Cayman Islands. 
 

The ICC Next Gen unit got off to a hot start behind Georgia opener Saanvi Sood, whose second six took her side to a total of 32 for 0 after 20 balls. But Sood fell next ball to Mahek Desai before Immadi capitalized on the breakthrough to rip through the middle order as ICC Next Gen lost all 10 wickets for 15 runs to be 47 all out. USA then needed just 5.4 overs to get to the target in a match that took less than 90 minutes to complete. 
 
ICC Next Gen captain Giulia Souza won the toss and elected to bat first as Sood and Chauhan made merry in the early sequence of play. Sood used the wind conditions to clobber a pair of sixes over wide long-on and teamed with North Carolina’s Palak Chauhan, who hit a six of her own down the ground, to sprint out of the gates. But the furious start was short-lived and USA’s disciplined bowling unit continued to strike regularly. 
 
Sood had just launched Laasya Bandaru’s offspin over the long-on rope off the second ball of the fourth over and looked in superb touch. But Sood paid the price for trying to repeat the shot on the very next ball and instead skied a catch to Maahi Madhavan, who completed the take on the run moving to her right along the rope at long-on. 
 
With Sood gone, Immadi was brought on to replace Madhavan from the Pavilion End and only needed four balls to claim her first wicket as Evelyn Muller couldn’t get to the pitch of a flighted delivery after charging down the wicket and was stumped by Hiranya Singh Talan, into the lineup for the first time in the tournament to take over the gloves from Pooja Ganesh. 
 
Mahek Desai replaced Bandaru in the sixth over and continued her outstanding tournament with the ball by striking twice in five balls to make it 37 for 4. First was Chauhan, who was given lbw for 12 after a failed swipe across the line. Sahasra Gorla lasted four balls before she chipped a catch to Madhavan at mid-on to wrap up the Powerplay with a double-wicket maiden for Desai. 
 
Immadi claimed her second in the seventh over when she bowled Alina Emch for a two-ball duck to make it 38 for 5. A triple-wicket maiden in the ninth then took Immadi to five on the day. Souza punched a basic return catch to Immadi on the first ball of the over. Clara Valencia was bowled after missing a swipe across the line three balls later. Jashe Trott then prodded down the wrong line two balls later to become Immadi’s third clean bowled dismissal as the ICC Next Gen side sat at 42 for 8. 
 
Sainavi Kambalapalli entered the attack for the first time in the 10^th and struck with her third ball as Disha Kaveripakam misread a googly and was given lbw for 5. Playing her first match of the tournament, left-arm wristspinner Dhanya Mikkilineni replaced Immadi for the 11^th and needed five legal balls to end the innings as Arya Shah slapped an easy catch to Kambalapalli in the circle at midwicket for 3. 
 
Aside from Immadi’s record-setting figures, Desai ended with 2 for 4 off two overs to move her team lead to 11 wickets in three matches. Kambalapalli had 1 for 1 off her only over while Mikkilineni’s figures were 1 for 4 off five legal balls. Bandaru was the other wicket-taker for USA, ending with 1 for 19 off two overs. Madhavan was the only pace bowler used by USA and returned 0 for 16 off her two overs. 
 
Kambalapalli had a rare failure with the bat at the start of the chase, sending the second ball from Kaveripakam’s offspin to Palak Chauhan at mid-off. But Aneesh arrived and quickly found her groove in the second over, driving Souza through cover for four before slicing another boundary through short third. She continued to score efficiently while keeping the bulk of the strike as USA U19 captain Chetna Pagydyala only wound up facing five balls, including just one after the end of the third over. Aneesh’s sixth boundary to start the sixth over took USA to within one shot of victory. After a pair of singles by Aneesh and Pagydyala, Aneesh stroked a two over wide long-on for the winning runs. Pagydyala finished unbeaten on 5. Kaveripakam ended with 1 for 16 off three overs for ICC Next Gen.
 
In the day’s other match, Canada defeated Argentina by 49 runs. After losing two wickets in the first three overs of play, Canada rebounded behind a 67-run partnership between Vritti Dahiya and Hasini Santhoshkumar as Argentina spilled multiple chances along the way. Dahiya top-scored with 37 not out and hit Canada’s only boundary of the innings in their total of 92 for 4. 
 
Vice-captain Dahiya also claimed 3 for 4 in the field but Player of the Match honors went to Sanjana Rao after her hat-trick in the seventh over wrecked the Argentina chase. Argentina captain Milagros Bestani was given lbw for 12 shortly after she had struck what wound up being Argentina’s only two boundaries of the chase. Rocio Roquel and Julia Andujar were then both clean bowled by Rao to complete the sequence to make it 22 for 5. Argentina were eventually bowled out for 43 in 16.3 overs. 
 
The tournament continues on Thursday when Argentina plays USA at 10 am before Canada takes on ICC Next Gen at 2:30 pm.
